I think she would have been a much better first lady then any other besides Michelle Obama in history I think Michelle Obama will have the greatest impact of history when it comes to her work as first lady but Cindy McCain I think could have been close to Michelle’s legacy I voted for McCain/Palin but I love Michelle Obama!

McCain has also publicly criticized the Bush administration over not having enough troops in Iraq and the surge has proved McCain correct. Just because he agrees with the president’s views on some issues does not mean he would go about them the same way. Therein lies part of the difference.

Did McCain himself insist that Heinz-Kerry release her returns? I think not. You have to remember that this is John McCain. Just because the Republican party says something doesn’t mean he does. He has strayed from the party line many times. Just one of the multiple reasons why this whole “McCain will be Bush III” argument is bullshit, he’s his own man.

Oh ets, angry much? Listen, the point is, that sort of passes you by is that the very people who were SHOCKED!, OUTRAGED! about Kerry’s wife NOT releasing her returns are the very same people who want to give McCain a pass.
The hypocisy is always transparent with “typical” republicans. I USED to be one, so I know just how shallow and petty they are. Then I became real. I cast my ballot for the best nominee in my own estimation after much thought and deliberation. Country before party.

The only “standard” is the legal standard which says candidates must release their tax returns. The fact that Heinz went beyond that doesn’t change the relevant standard. And since the McCains didn’t insist that Heinze release her returns, they are not employing a “double standard.”
